About Us
Focus Learning Center specializes in tutoring for students of various academic levels and backgrounds. It is in the heart of Richmond near Lansdowne Centre.
Facility and transport
The facility is about 6,000 sq ft with around 20 classrooms. Specialized rooms include a computer area, piano room, dancing room, small library, and kitchen. A 72-student school bus and several school vehicles are available.
Teachers
Staff teach kindergarten through high school. Teachers are interviewed by the principal and need teaching experience and qualifications. The approach combines Western methods with international practice and follows the B.C. curriculum for math, English, and science. The principal has many years of teaching experience in Canada.
Our goal
We support each student’s learning needs and aim to build problem-solving, social skills, confidence, and motivation to set challenging goals.
Highlights (from the official site)
Speech and confidence are a focus; students have taken part in the 2016 National Oratorical Contest. Math students enter Waterloo and other contests. Artwork may enter North American competitions and sometimes appear in magazines and newspapers.
